MTB Southern Ontario
Dundas Valley Conservation Area, Hamilton

White Pine Trail * Main Loop *
Wide Double Track

The Main Loop trail is the central artery for Dundas Valley, linking all the parking lots to all the trails and the Sulphur Springs Trail Centre.

Main trails are marked every 100metres with sign posts. Spur trails are marked with colour blazes on tree trunks.

The 50km Victoria Rail Trail (Hamilton - Dundas - Brantford) runs through the park, right past the Sulphur Springs Train Station (Trail Centre) which is designated a Discover Ontario heritage landmark (complete with antique train cars).

Main Loop Trail
* Main Loop *
Sulphur Springs Cascade

Main Loop trail is a high traffic multi-use trail about 5-6km long. There are many scenic points along the way, including this set of creek rapids known as a "cascade". There is a hint of sulphur in the air hence the name Sulphur Springs.

Ski Loop #1 * Ski Loop #1 *
Single Track

Ski Loop #1 is a 2-3km single track branching from the Sulphur Springs Trail north of the station.

This trail has nice easy climbs, gentle cruising downhils and some twisty sections around stands of trees with some small exposed roots. No rocks.

Sections of this trail run across open fields and thru small valleys before it returns to the main trail. A great variety of terrains.

Dundas Valley has a nice variety of difficulty of trails but 75% are recreational and not too technical.

Ski Loop #2 * Ski Loop #2 *
Single Track

Ski Loop #2 is a 1-2km single track branching from the Main Loop.

Like Ski Loop #1, this trail has easy climbs, gentle downhils and some twisty sections around stands of trees with some exposed roots. Still no rocks.

There's one very shallow stream crossing that won't get you wet.

This is a good warm-up trail or for a recreational rider that wants to gets a taste of mountain biking on single track. There is nothing dangerous, but definitely worth the trek.

Heritage Trail
* Heritage Trail *
Wide Single Track

This is another major artery trail for the park. This one winds through the valley following Spencer Creek. There's alot of pedestrian traffic along this trail because of it's proximity to residential areas. Some spur trails here lead to subdivisions.
