A Girl Scout trip is an opportunity for fun and adventure! It is exciting to hear the wonderful trips our troops haven taken- from day trips to the corn maize, overnights to Camp Misty Mountain and weekend trips to the Birthplace of Girl Scouting, Savannah, GA. With over 34,000 girls being served in the Northwest Georgia Council you can understand why the safety of every girls is of the highest priority. The council has begun to notice an increase in trip applications arriving into the office after the actual event. If the completed form is not into the Council Office before the actual trip the liability can be placed onto the leader. It is not the council position to make a volunteer's experience more difficult but to provide them with the same sense of security that the girls and parents have under you. Please refer to page 68 or the 2005 Edition of the Guide For Volunteers for deadline dates. Remember that your SUD needs 3-5 days to get it to the office. The council does not want you to stop any plans you have for events or have you miss out on an opportunity that comes along in a short notice. We ask that you get the necessary paperwork signed and approved as quickly as you can.
If you have any questions, please contact myself, Patty Taylor, at 404-527-7386 or by email at [email protected]. Thank you.

Name Tags/Bands when away from meeting location
Any time you are away from your meeting location, the scouts should be wearing a nametag or band that contains emergency information. They can be fancy like metal dog tags, or simple like wrist bands from Party City that are similar to those used at the Cooler. The information should include:
The leader should hand them out before you leave and, if permanent, collect them after the trip and keep for the next time.
