| Juneau vs. Riverside 12-21-01 Juneau's Lady Pioneers got their 2nd conference win defeating Riverside by a score of 66-47. The Tigers had a 2-point lead at half time, but Juneau's "nasty D" kicked butt in the 2nd half and held Riverside to 11 points. Three Lady Pioneers scored int he double digits. Shameka Beverly scored 21 points, and 9 rebounds. Danielle Childs got another double double with her 21 points, 14 rebounds and 8 steals. Danielle was also selected by the Journal/Sentinel sports writers as the Player of the Week. Tyrika Gordon had 16 points, 7 assists and caused the Tigers to turn the ball over 12 times. Jessica Games added four points. Danae Lindsey and Shelly Krug each chipped in 2 points. |
| Juneau vs. Tech 01-04-02 Juneau's Lady Pioneers learned the hard way that you have to do more than just "show up" to beat a team as they dropped what they "thought" would be a sure victory to Tech 48-44. Shameka Beverly led the squad with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Danielle Childs had another double double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Danae Lindsey and Tyrika Gordon had 10 and 8 points respectively. |
| Juneau vs. Bay View 01-08-02 The Lady Pioneers got back into a winning mood and defeated Bay View by a score of 45-42. Danielle Childs tied the game by clutching 2 free throws with a minute left in the game. A missed shot by Bay View led to a Juneau fast break and a bucket to put the game away. Shameka Beverly had a double double and led all scorers with 16 points, 16 rebounds, 3 blocked shots, and 5 steals. Danielle Childs added her 4th double double in as many games with 15 points, 18 rebounds and 4 steals. Tyrika Gordon had 4 points, 7 assists, 8 rebounds and 4 steals. Jessica Games also had 4 points and chipped in 2 rebounds and 2 steals. Danae Lindsey and Alicia Benson had 4 and 2 points respectively. |
| Juneau vs. Washington 1-11-02 The Lady Pioneers learned first hand why Washington is the perennial city champ and ranked 1st in the area as they lost by a score of "very little" to "a whole lot." Shameka Beverly led the squad with 12 points and 12 rebounds for her 2nd double-double in as many games. Tyrika Gordon had 6 points and 2 assists. Danae Lindsey, Alicia Benson and Shelly Krug each scored 2 points to conclude Juneau's scoring. The really bad news is that we have to play them again just before they start tournament play in their quest for a 6th state championship. |
| Juneau vs. King 1-18-02 The Lady Pioneers started round two of their conference play with a 55-38 loss to King. Shameka Beverly led the offense with 14 points, 8 rebonds, and 4 assists. Tyrika Gordon had 10 points and 2 assists. Daniellet Childs had 10 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocked shots. Danae Lindsey had 4 points and 3 rebounds to complete Juneau's scoring. |
| Juneau vs. Hamilton 1-22-02 Juneau lost to Hamilton by a score of 49-41. Shameka Beverly led the offense with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. Tyrika Gordon and Danielle Childs led the defense with 4 and 7 steals respectively. Gordon had 12 points and 5 assists. Childs had 9 points and 13 rebounds. Danae Lindsey and Shelly Krug had 4 and 2 points respectively to complete Juneau's scoring. |
| Juneau vs. Vincent 1-25-02 Juneau lost to Vincent 71-51. Sophomore center Shameka Beverly scored 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals. Sophomore forward Danielle Childs added another double double to her credits and led all acorers with 27 points, 10 rebounds, 7 blocked shots and 6 steals. Junior point guard Tyrika Gordon had 4 points, 6 assists and 2 rebounds and caused 10 Vincent turnovers. Junior forward Danae Lindsey had 5 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists to complete Juneau's scoring. |
| Juneau vs. Marshall 2-01-02 The Lady Pioneers traveled to Marshall and left with a loss to the Eagles by a score of 45-38. Shameka Beverly led the team with another double double, scoring 13 points, grabbing 17 rebounds, blocking 3 shots and stealing 8 Marshall passes. Tyrika Gordon added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Alicia Benson had 4 points and 3 rebounds. Danae Lindsey dropped in 8 points. Shelly Krug had 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Mawa Konate had 3 rebounds and blocked a shot. Jessica Games had 2 boards and joined forces with Jessica White and Tanyla Laxton to cause 4 Marshall turnovers. |
