Juneau vs. Custer

The Lady Pioneers defeated Custer  by a score of 77-43.  Five players scored in double figures as Juneau raced to a 42-11 half time leade and never looked back.  Junior point guard  Tyrika Gordon led all scorers with 23 points.  Sophomore forward Danielle Childs added 16 points.  Sophomore center Shameka Beverly and sophomore guard Alicia Benson both had 14 points.  Junior forward Danae Lindsey clutched 3 free throws in the 4th quarter to give her 10 points in the game.
Juneau vs. King
12-04-01

The Lady Pioneers opened their conference play with a loss to King by a score of 52-34.  King may have won the game, but Juneau won the battle of the centers.  Shameka Beverly led all scorers with 20 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocked shots and 3 steals.  Tyrika Gordon had 8 points, 3 assists and 3 steals.  Alicia Benson had 3 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists.  Jessica Games and Danae Lindsey had 2 and 1 point respectively.  Shelly Krug had no points, but her defense against King's post players made up for it.
Juneau vs. Hamilton

The Lady Pioneers lost to Hamilton by a score of 56-33.  Shameka Beverly's double double was not enough to combat Juneau's 3rd and 4th quarter turnovers which gave Hamilton 20 points.  Shameka finished with 21 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists, and one blocked shot.  Alicia Benson and Danae Lindsey each scored 4 points.  Tyrika Gordon had 3 points, 4 steals and 2 assists before fouling out in the 4th quarter.  Jessica Games had a freethrow to complete Juneau's scoring.
Juneau vs. Vincent
12-11-01

The Lady Pioneers lost to Vincent by a score of 65-37.  The game was actually close in the 1st half before Juneau got into foul trouble and Vincent started their marathon free throw shooting contest.  Danielle Childs led our offense with 12 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals and a blocked shot.  Shameka Beverly had 11 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocked shots before fouling out in the 3rd quarter.  Tyrika Gordon had 5 points, 2 assists and a blocked shot before fouling out in the 4th quarter.  Danae Lindsey had 6 points and 5 rebounds before fouling out in the 4th quarter.  Alicia had 3 points and was the only Juneau scorer who didn't foul out of the game.

Juneau vs. Marshall
12-18-01

Three Lady Pioneers scored in double figures and two had double doubles as Juneau won their first conference game defeating Marshall 51-38.  Sophomore point-forward Danielle Childs led the offense with 16 points, 12 rebounds and 4 steals.  Junior point guard Tyrika Gordon had 15 points, 5 steals, 3 assists and caused Marshall to turn the ball over 8 times.  Sophomore center Shameka Beverly added 11 points, 19 rebounds, 6 steals and 5 assists as she got her 3rd straight double double.  Junior forward Danae Lindsey had 8 points and 3 assists.  Freshman Forward  Jessica Games chipped in 2 points and 5 rebounds.
