Which Animal Would Make The Perfect Classroom Pet?

Most of us love animals and would love to have our very own pet. Especially, a classroom pet. As we begin our science unit of study on living and non-living things, having a classroom pet would be a terrific idea! We would get to learn many different things by having a pet in our classroom. However, before we can bring any animal into the classroom, we need to know what level of responsibility we are getting ourselves into. This is not as simple as replanting a few seeds, if our project goes bad. We need to make sure we know EVERYTHING there is to know about our classroom pet before we even think of bringing it into our school.

To get started in this project, you will need your Science Notebooks and well sharpened pencils (with functioning erasers). Also, be ready to share different responsibilities, as I will be creating 5 separate groups with 4 students in each one. You must be wondering what animal you would like to study... well I hope you're not thinking of a giraffe as a possible class pet, because I already have a list of possible class pets for you and each group will be assigned a specific pet. Needless to say, giraffe is not on my list. :)

Remember: You will need to learn EVERYTHING there is to know about your assigned animal (Don't Panic! I have resources available for you to use :)

One last thing, while you learn more and more about your animal, you need to decide whether you feel this animal would be THE BEST or THE WORST classroom pet.
