The Cloning Room Floor
Miscellaneous deletions for Coruscant...

Jar Jar Greets Anakin
When Obi-Wan and Anakin arrive at Padme's apartment, Jar Jar happily greets Obi-Wan but pretty much ignores Anakin until later on in the scene. But in the script, Jar Jar was quite surprised to see Anakin all grown up.

Below is the excerpt from the "Art of Episode II" script...

JAR JAR notices OBI-WAN'S APPRENTICE.

JAR JAR
...and this, I take it, is your apprentice...Noooooooo! Annie? Noooooooo! Little bitty Annie (looks at Anakin) Noooooooo! Yousa so biggen! Yiyiyiyyi! Annie!

ANAKIN
Hi, Jar Jar.

JAR JAR grabs hold of ANAKIN and envelops him in a big hug.

JAR JAR
Shesa expecting yousa. Annie...Mesa no believen!

Anakin Meditates
Here are a couple details removed from the scene where Anakin and Obi-Wan are standing watch outside Padme's apartment. Anakin meditating was depicted in Select #15.

Below is the excerpt from the "Art of Episode II" script...

Scene 016- INTERIOR APARTMENT BUILDING, AMIDALA's APARTMENT, MAIN ROOM-NIGHT

ANAKIN is standing in the living room. He is in a meditative state. It is quiet. We hear DISTANT FOOTSTEPS in the corridor outside the apartment. Suddenly ANAKIN'S eyes pop open. His eyes dart around the room. He reaches for his lightsaber, then smiles and puts in back on his belt.

The door to the apartment slides open, and OBI-WAN enters.

Jar Jar's Diplo-Dialect
Early on, Lucas had entertained the idea of having Jar Jar speak "diplo-dialect" or normal speak rather than his Gungan accent as a result of his ten years in the Senate. This idea was dropped and Jar Jar although more mature still speaks in his native tongue.

Below is a humorous excerpt from Cinefex magazine talking about the new Jar Jar with animator Rob Coleman...

The animators had begun to produce shots of this new Jar Jar when Lucas nixed the idea, mainly because he could not spare the screen time to explain such a transformation. "When I showed George those performance shots of Jar Jar," related Rob Coleman, "he said:'What's the matter with Jar Jar? He looks stoned.' I said: 'Uh, no, he's being regal - that's regal.' And he said: 'That's all wrong. That's not Jar Jar.' So we went back to the old Jar Jar to some extent, but not completely. He is more regal in this movie, especially in his first scene in the chancellor's office, where he is just standing there. Later, when he speaks, he is the Jar Jar we all know and love, flopping around all over the place."

Jedi Knights Assemble
In the shooting script there was a scene where Mace Windu, Yoda and the other council members agreed they could not wait for the Senate to grant Palpatine emergency powers, they would take what Jedi were available and leave for Geonosis immediately. Outside the Temple, hundreds of Jedi Knights assemble in preparation.

Below is the excerpt from the Shooting script...
EXT. CORUSCANT, JEDI TEMPLE - DAY

TWO HUNDRED JEDI KNIGHTS are assembling outside the huge center of the Jedi Order.

INT. CORUSCANT, JEDI TEMPLE, COUNCIL CHAMBER - DAY

The JEDI COUNCIL are assembled as MACE WINDU makes his plea.

MACE WINDU
The longer we wait, the stronger Dooku's armies become. We cannot wait for the Senate to make up its mind about granting the Chancellor emergency powers, in order to be able to use that clone army... We have the authority to go now. We must go now.

All of the JEDI COUNCIL nod their approval.

YODA
Agreed, Master Windu. Two hundred Jedi send. Enough, let's hope they are.

Trailer Shots
Bail Organa's line "We must stop them before their ready" from the Clone War trailer was not used in the finished film.
