The Costs
As with anything people want to know what the costs are or the bottomline. As an experienced results oriented tutor I demand alot from myself and the programs that are offered. Education like it or not is a business and there is honour in providing quality services to those in need of guidance. A professional by definition is someone who provides services for a fee and distinguishes themself by provide that service in such a way that the client receives value for money.
It continues to be my goal to give participants in my programs value for money by being there to do the job and do it so that the customer is satisfied. Some teachers forget we are here to serve the student. We are here to provide guidance in such a way that students can reach their goals in a short time than they could on their own. That is to say there are students who can do this preparatory work without my help. I am actively looking for people who do need my help and insight into the IELTS and TOEFL exams.
What are your rates? Simply put I charge based on the time it takes me to prepare materials, guide candidates, analyze work and feedback to the candidate. That is worth to me between $15-$25 USD per hour. When I calculate out a cost for a course I estimate the amount of time it will take me to do a given task and what reasonable expectation I have that a student will accept or take to my guidance and be able to succeed. If I can't reasonably expect to help you progress I will not take you on as a student and I will refer you to another tutor or service.
I believe I am pricing my work and service in a fair and equitable manner. Of course many might see the cost as high or even excessive I would say to that you haven't seen what you get for your money.
