Currently, there are five rooms at Marilyn Queller. The infant room in the afternoon. Teacher Dina with one of our children.

The infant room teachers include Fran, Jen, and Nicci.  The infant room includes a separate sleeping area, swing area, and free play area.  Each child has a cubby in their room, and a fridge and microwave are kept in the room so the teachers do not have to leave to get bottles or heat food.

The toddler room teachers include Linda and Kristine. The toddler room has recently been added to expand the space available at the Center for the younger children.

Shelia and Theresa work with the Two's.  Their two-year old room was recently redecorated to give the children a new feel to the room.  They have climbing and tunneling areas, housekeeping, building, and puzzles areas.  There are also soft spots to pick up a book, settle in, and read.  A bathroom in the room helps those children on their way to potty training. The two year old room. Everyone had left for the day.

Dina and Kathy
teach in the Three's room, a Head Start collaboration classroom.  This room also has a housekeeping section, a blocks area, and a reading area.  A bathroom in the room helps those children on their way to potty training. The three year old room. Everyone had left for the day.

The Three/Four's room is a Head Start collaboration site with James and Ellen.  In addition to the housekeeping and reading areas, the fours participate weekly with a Head Start representative and their teachers on educational subjects.  The children are encouraged to clean up after themselves, use words to communicate in difficult situations, and help others.  In good weather, the classroom takes trips to the Urbana Free Library for story time, and they have also started a weekly show and tell time. The four year old room. Last snack of the day is ready.

The center also has a number of volunteers and part-time staff that help our teachers and visit our children.  You will often find these people assisting in the classrooms and on the playgrounds.
