Dear Parents,
For the next week our theme at the center will be "Zoo." The theme for the week of August 12th and 19th will be "How Does Your Garden Grow?" and the theme for the last week in August will be "Making New Friends." Our color of the month is brown and our shape of the month is a circle. The letters of the month are "Z," "O," and "Q."

I would like to thank Hallie Hoots for all her help this summer. We really appreciate your care and dedication to the children at the center. Hallie will be returning to school this fall.

I would like to introduce Kimberly Hopkins. She has taken over the Supervisory/Head Teacher position. Kimberly graduated from the U of I in Human Development and Family Studies. For the past year and a half, she has been working with two year olds at another center. Besides working in the two year old classroom, Kimberly is in charge of the center in my absence.

I am sad to announce that Jennifer Carter (two year old room) has resigned her position effective August 21st. She has accepted a part-time teaching position that allows her to spend her afternoons with her infant son Tyler. We wish her the best of luck. Dina Fox will be moving into the two year old classroom.

August is a month when a lot of changes usually occur at the center. If your child is leaving, please notify us when their last day will be. Also let us know if your child will be nerolled in another early childhood program this fall and whether they will bein the morning or afternoon class.

The next parent meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 6th from 5:30-7pm. Free pizza and child care are provided. A sign-up sheet is located on the parent board. Everyone is welcome to attend. You can find out more information about the parent committee's plan of events for the upcoming months.

A "Graduation Potluck" is being planned for all the five year olds who will be leaving to attend Kindergarten this fall. It will be held across the street in the Webber Street Church of Christ basement on Thursday, August 22nd beginning at 6pm. More details to follow. August menus are attached and have a great month!
