Dear Parents,
Next week our theme at the center will be "Community Helpers." We will be talking about feelings and emotions that go along with Valentine's Day. If you would like your child to exchange Valentines, please help your child sign his/her name on them and send them by the 12th. There are 9 toddlers, 10 two year olds, 16 threes, and 20 four year olds. It is not necessary for you to address them. If you wish you may pick up a class list from your child's teacher.

Also this month the preschool children will be reading books and doing related activities to Black History Month. They will be looking at some of the many, great contributions African-Americans have made to our society. Since February is also Children's Dental Health Month, we will be talking about how important it is to take care of our teeth. The last week's theme will be "Transportation By Air." The color of the month is pink, our letters of the month are L (Love) and V (Valentine), and our shape of the month is a heart.

I wouls like to take a moment to let you know about an exciting opportunity we have to offer your family. Our center began collaborating with Head Start in March of 1998. This has already benefited your child because of the fact that for each child we enrolled in our "Head Start" program, we receive an extra $10.00 a day in addition to the tuition we charge. This money goes directly into our program to purchase new equipment and supplies for your child. If you wish you may pick up an application in the office.

There will be a parent meeting on Tuesday February 5th. A representative from A Woman's Fund will be presenting a parent workshop on the Child Assault Prevention Project. The prgram will be presented to the children in the four year old classroom on Thursday and Friday of that week. Pizza dinner will be from 5:30-6:00pm, and the meeting will start at 6:00pm. Please sign-up on the parent bulletin board so we can plan for food and child care.

Attached you will find February menu and book club order forms. Book orders and money are due in the office by the 8th. Have a great month.
