DEATH CLAIMS AGED RESIDENT
------
GEORGE WARFIELD DIES AT HOME AFTER SIX MONTHS OF ILLNESS
------

After suffering for more than six months with a complication of illnesses, death came as a relief for George Warfield at his home on North Otter Creek street at 9 o'clock this morning.  Mr. Warfield had been ailing for a number of months and it was just recently that his condition became so serious and he gradually became worse until this morning when he passed away at nine o'clock.
The deceased was born in Bristol, England, November 15, 1868.  He was united in marriage to Sarah Price.  Unto this union twelve children were born, five of whom are surviving, with the wife- William, John, George, Albert and Raymond all of whom reside in this city.  He is also survived by one brother, Thomas, in England and two sisters living in England.
Mr. Warfield was engaged in farming, he having come to this country in May, 1869, living in Pennsylvania for a short time and then coming to this city where he has resided until the time of his death.
From Streator Daily Free Press, Jan. 7, 1929:

LOCAL PIONEER SUMMONED AT HOME HERE
------
Mrs. Sarah Warfield, 85, Dies Following Long Illness.
------

Mrs. Sarah Warfield, resident of this city for fifty-nine years, was claimed in her home on North Otter Street yesterday morning at 11 o'clock.  For more than eight years she had been in poor health but not until the past three months was she confined to her bed.  She was eighty-five years of age and when her condition became critical her body was able to offer but little resistance to the disease.  She had always resided in the northern section of the city and here she will be missed among scores who cherished her friendship.  She was one of the finest of Streator's pioneers.
Her husband, George Warfield, preceded her in death seven years ago.  Sarah Price was born in Absuken, England, June 6, 1884[1], and in that country in 1868 was united in marriage.  With her husband she came to the United States sixty years ago locating in Rock Island.  They remained there only a year however when they came to this city and since made it their home.  Five children are living: William, George and John of Streator, Albert of Franklin Park, Ill. and Raymond who has not been located.  One sister also survives, Mrs. Caroline Gregg of Rock Island, Ill.  One daughter and two brothers preceded Mrs. Warfield in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from the home on North Otter Creek street and at 2:30 from the Primitive Methodist Church with interment at Moon Cemetery.
