MRS. E. WOODS PASSES AWAY AT LOCAL HOSPITAL

Funeral Services Will Be Conducted Tuesday Afternoon
------

   Following an illness of two weeks duration, Mrs. Eliza Jane Woods died at St. Mary's hospital yesterday morning at 10:30 o'clock.
   Mrs. Woods was born in New York City, N.Y., June 1, 1861 to Henry and Margaret McKannon.  At the age of five years she came with her parents to Streator where she had lived ever since.  It was in this city that she was united in marriage to John Woods in 1878.  Three children were born to this union, one having passed away in infancy.  Mr. Woods preceded his wife in death two years ago.  Mrs. Woods made her home at 1521 S. Bloomington street until last Christmas when she went to live with her daughter, Mrs. Huber.
   She leaves to survive her daughter Mrs. Huber and one son, William B. Woods, both of Streator.
   Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Huber home.  Interment will take place in the Moon Cemetery.

Son of Pioneers To Be Buried From Family Home Sunday Afternoon

   John Delos Woods, 79, miner and coal operator, who had been living in retirement at his home, 1601 S. Bloomington street, for 
the past four years, and who had not been well for the past week, died there at 4:30 o'clock this morning 
   His passing was attributed to the intense heat of the past few days
   The son of Peter and Margaret Woods, pioneers, Mr. Woods was born in Streator March 23, 1855, and remained here throughout his life. He followed the vocation of coal mining, and later operated a strip mine in close proximity to his home.
     His marriage with Eliza Jane McKenna occurred here 56 years ago, and to them three children were born, two of whom, William Woods and Mrs. Leonora Huber of this city are left. 
     The body which is reposing in the Howland Funeral home will be taken to the family residence Saturday afternoon. Funeral services will be held there Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and interment take place in the Moon cemetery.

SERVICES FOR JOHN D. WOODS

     Funeral services for the late John D. Woods, 79, a life-long resident of this city and the son of pioneer residents, were held
yesterday afternoon at two o'clock at his residence, 1601 South Bloomington street.
     Mr. Woods passed away last Thursday morning July 24, a victim of the heat wave.
     Despite his age, Mr. Woods who spent practically all his life in local mines as a miner and operator, had been in splendid health up to a short time before his death.
     Rev. H. B. Lewis, pastor of the M. E. church officiated at the services.
     The pallbearers were W. Defenbaugh, Peter Defenbaugh, J. Noble, Lester Conness, O Lloyd and A. Anderson.
     The beautiful flora tributes were in charge of Mrs. Henry Kuykendall.
     Burial was in Moon cemetery.
