Semans
Mrs. Sarah A. Semans, 90, 415 Iowa Avenue,
died Monday at 6:05 p.m. at St. Mary's Hospital, where she had been hospitalized
since Feb. 15.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
at Elias funeral home with services there Thursday at 11 a.m. Burial
will be in Moon Cemetery.
Mrs. Semans was born Oct. 11, 1888 in Streator
to George and Anna (Bentley) Noble. She married William Cairns and
following his death, she later married Lloyd Semans. He died in 1937.
Surviving are two sons, James Cairns, Trimont,
Minn., and Roy Cairns, Oxford, Wis., five daughters, Mrs. Ray (Sarah) Benge,
Mankato, Minn., Mrs. Viola Carlson, Trimont, Minn., Mrs. Grover (LaVern)
Defenbaugh, Mrs. Robert (Boole) Fredericksen and Mrs. Dean (Honey) Martin;
16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by a son, Merle,
two husbands, one granddaughter, Ruth Cairns and one brother. John
Noble and one sister, Mrs. Amiel (Margaret) Scent.
A lifetime resident of Streator, she was
a member of the First United Methodist Church. |
