DEATH TAKES ARTHUR REDFERN

  Funeral Services to be Held From Howlands Monday Afternoon
   Arthur Redfern, aged 66, who has spent his entire life in this community, died in St. Mary's hospital at six o'clock this morning where he had been a patient the past week.
   Services will be held from the Howland Memorial Home at two o'clock Monday afternoon with burial following in the Moon cemetery, southwest of the city.   Friends may call there after two o'clock Sunday   The Edina Lodge of Odd Fellows will conduct its burial ritual at seven o'clock Sunday evening.
   The son of Thomas and Mary A. (James) Redfern, Mr. Redfern was born at Coalville, southwest of the  city, July 3,1881. His marriage  with Belle Cossel occurred in February,1913, and they became the parents of three children, Everett and Raymond Redfern of Streator and Mrs. Margaret Brugman of Chicago who are left with their mother.  There is also a brother, Edward Redfern, of Streator.  One sister preceded him in death.
   Mr. Redfern was engaged in farming until his recent illness.

RITES HELD FOR ARTHUR REDFERN
  Funeral services for Arthur Redfern, prominent Reading township farmer, who died Friday in St. Mary's hospital, were held in the Howland Memorial Home Monday afternoon  at 2 o'clock, Rev. E. W. Smith officiated, George Hood sang one hymn, accompanied by Mrs. Lucille Schiffbauer. 
Interment was in Moon cemetery.
  Pallbearers were Raymond Armstrong, Frank Whalen, James Skaggs, Raymond McFadden, Charles Coe and Glenn Tombaugh.
