| "L.N. and E. Long" are Lester N.
and Elizabeth Beidler Long.
My thanks to Alison
Bigbee, for the following information:
Lester N. Long (b. November 1825 in
Fayette county, PA, d. 1904 in the Illinois Soldiers and Sailors Home in
Quincy.) Lester is buried in Sunset Cemetery associated with the
Illinois Soldiers and Sailors home…. he served in Co. A, 129th Illinois
Infantry in the Civil War. Lester married
Elizabeth Beidler in 1850 in Fayette County and
they moved to Livingston County, IL between 1858-1860….the family is found
in 1860 Reading, Reading Township, Livingston County, IL.
I believe that Lester and Elizabeth
Long moved with Lester’s sister, Eliza McFadden (b. 1809, d. 1895, buried
Riverside Cemetery, Streator, Illinois) and her children, including John
and George McFadden. George McFadden was a lifelong resident of Livingston
County… I believe he died between 1910-1920 in Reading Township… I don’t
know where he is buried.
Belle’s mother, Elizabeth, died in
September 1867 and Belle’s brother, David Long, died in 1868 at age 1 year….
they also should be buried in Moon Point cemetery (they are listed in the
records) but I don’t know if any tombstones still exist for them.
Lester N. Long had a son, Albert J.
Long (b. 1855 in Pennsylvania), that was a lifetime resident of Livingston
County, IL… I believe he died in Amity Township in 1931.
Albert (age 74) and wife Eliza (Patterson) were
last living in 1930 Amity Twp, Livingston County, IL. I don’t know
where Albert is buried. |
