| From an article about George Flannigam by Doris M. Chambers:
"George married Elizabeth Armstrong who was born in Hocking County, Ohio, just east of Ross County. She was born April 20, 1808 to Thomas and Margaret Patton Armstrong. The family migrated to Boone County, Indiana about 1834 and lived in the Darlington and Throntown area. It is famly tradition that their home was a station on the underground railroad which had a branch through the Darlington area, according to Indiana history. George died Sept. 24, 1851 and was buried in St. James Lutheran Cemetery. Elizabeth was undoubtedly a woman of courage for she and most of their children left Indiana for Illinois while the youngest son was quite young. Elizabeth died April 19, 1860 and was buried in the Moon Cemetery, Reading Township, Livingston County. Their eight children were: Alford, June 14, 1831 (Mary Van Bundy); Margaret, Feb. 26, 1885 [1835?] (Joseph Skaggs); Joseph, Feb. 26, 1885 [1835?] (Lydia Jane Sutton, and Sarah Foust); Blackburn, June 9, 1838 (Mandy Patrick); Mary Jane, July 13, 1840 (Clinton DeWitt Snyder); Minerva, Feb. 15, 1843 (Sam Patrick and George Sornberger); Thomas, April 4, 1844, (Sarah Ann Jacob); William, June 24, 1848, (Catherine Hoskins)."
