DEATH SUMMONS MRS. COPELAND, AGED 89 YEARS
Funeral Services To Be Held From Howland's Chapel
Thursday.
Mrs. Anna Copeland, resident of Streator
for the past 55 years, died at St. Mary's hospital at 8:45 o'clock last
evening, her death being attributed to the infirmities of old age.
She had been confined in the local institution since December, going there
from the home of Mrs. Fred Lawton, 815 South Park street, where she lived
for a year previous.
She was the daughter of Robert and Sarah
Pickerill, and was born at New Castle, England, December 3, 1847.
Her marriage
with Benjamin Copeland occurred in England, 65 years
ago. Mr.
and Mrs. Copeland coming to America and directly to Streator
ten years later.
There were three children, Mrs. John Redfern,
Mrs. Anna Wells and Robert Copeland, all of whom are deceased as
is her
husband who died 14 years ago.
Left are two sisters, Mary Ann Johnston,
Pontiac, Ada Baldwin, England, nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren,
and two great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Copeland was a member of the Baptist
church and its auxiliary organizations and was active there as long as
her health and strength permitted.
Funeral services will be held from the Howland
chapel at 2:30
o'clock Thursday afternoon, at which Rev. Harry Reed
will officiate Burial will take place in the Moon cemetery.

The family of Mrs. Anna Copeland are asking
friends to kindly
refrain from sending flowers to the Howland chapel.
Mrs. Copeland will be buried Thursday.

REV. H. J. REED CONDUCTS RITES FOR MRS. ANNA COPELAND
Final rites for Mrs. Anna Copeland, aged
89, who died Monday morning at the local hospital, where she had
been a patient since December were conducted yesterday afternoon at 2:30
o'clock from Howland's chapel.
Rev. H J. Reed,, pastor of the Baptist church
officiated during the services. Miss Florence Nicholson sang two
beautiful selections.
Interment was made in Moonpoint cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Loren, Robert, Everett and Raymond Redfern, Thomas McKinley
and Arthur Allen. |
