DELOS BURTON PASSES AWAY Manville Farmer
Lives His Allotted Span Of Years--Buried On Birthday. Delos Burton,
who lived one mile west of Manville, lived his allotted three score years
and ten. Just four days before his seventy-first birthday he passed
away at his home after a lingering illness caused by dropsy*.
He will be laid to rest on his birthday, October 10. The deceased
was a resident of the vicinity near Manville for forty-five years, so was
well known in that community. Delos Burton was born Oct. 10, 1847,
at Coalville, Ill. He was united in marriage Dec. 20, 1870, to Miss
Elizabeth Pope. Three years later the couple moved to the homestead
near Manville, where the wife and one son, Edward, still live. One
other son, Samuel, and a daughter, Mrs. Will Allen, also survive.
Three other children have preceded the father to the Great Beyond
One brother, John Burton, of Coalville, is left to mourn the loss of the
well known farmer Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon
at the home at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Moon cemetery where the
father will be laid to rest by the side of the three children.
