Rodney Bakalar, 1940-2002
Rodney D. Bakalar, 61, of Northlake, formerly
of Streator, died at 11:30 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2002, at Gottlieb Memorial
Hospital, Melrose Park.
Funeral services will be at noon Friday
at Winterrowd- Hagi Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Moon Creek (sic) Cemetery,
rural Streator. Pallbearers will be Jack, Erik and Dennis Bakalar; Bob
Clark, George Hart and Jeremy Wilken.
The flag folding ceremony will be conducted
at the cemetery by Streator Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1492 and Streator
American Legion Post 217.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until
noon Friday at the funeral home.
Born May 23, 1940, in Streator, he was
the son of John and Mary (Hart) Bakalar.
He is survived by a brother, Jack Bakalar,
Streator; a niece, Kathy Taylor; and nephews, Dennis and Erik Bakalar.
He was preceded in death by his parents;
sisters, Sandra and Ronelva; and a nephew, John S. Bakalar.
He graduated from Streator High School.
A veteran, he served in the United States Army.
He was formerly employed at Castle Steel
in Franklin Park.
He was a member of AMVETS (American Veterans
of World War II, Korea and Vietnam) in Northlake. |
