BAKALAR RITES AT 2 SATURDAY
The death of Mr. Bakalar came after an illness of 3 1/2 weeks duration following a cerebral hemorrhage. Survivin him are his wife, the former Mary Hart, to whom he was married Oct. 27, 1934, in Chicago, and three children: John Jr., Rodney and Ronelva. A daughter, Sandra, died in infancy. He is also survived by his parents, Mike and Anna Bakalar; three sisters, Mrs. George (Anna) Renner, Mrs. Andrew (Mary) Remeta, Mrs. James (Pearl) Hill, Mrs. John (Louise) Higgins, and Irene Bakalar, all of Streator, and two brothers, Milo, of Portland, Ore., and Ted, of Streator. The son of Micheal and Anna (Sholtis) Bakalar, he was born June 10, 1910 in Streator, and it was here he spent his entire life. He was employed by the firm of King & Hamilton at Ottawa, and for a number of years operated a small grocery store on Holcomb street. |
