Irene Bakalar
Services will be hel at 3 p.m. Friday at Hagi Funeral Home. The Rev. John E. Gutz will officiate. Burial will be in Moon Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Born Feb. 2, 1914, in Streator, she was the daughter of Micheal and Anna (Sholtis) Bakalar. Surviving are sisters, Mary Remeta of Long Point, Pearl Hill of Phoenix, Ariz., and Louise (Mrs. Jack) Higgins of Streator; brothers, Micheal Bakalar of Salem, Ore., and Theodore Bakalar of Streator; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Renner; and brothers John and Andrew Bakalar. A Streator resident all of her life, she was formerly employed at the Plumb Hotel as a housekeeper. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice. |
