Scott Welch purchases a substantial quantity of HWA:   SATURDAY 8th JANUARY 2005 - 14.23 p.m. GMT - Confirmed by REUTER'S ====================== Today the HWA's CEO announced officially that Scott Welch has purchased a 'substantial' amount of shares in the Hardcore Wrestling Association Ltd.  The confirmation comes as rumours of Welch's purchase of shares leaked out onto the HWA web site sometime yesterday afternoon.  Mr. Mozza had the following to say this morning outside HWA HQ: "The rumours are true and I am pleased to announce that Mr. Scott Welch has purchased a substantial quantity of shares in the HWA.  We have considered this move for the past couple of weeks now and saw this as the ideal time to announce his appointment to the board and as Assistant Manager of the HWA.  It is always quiet after the holiday period and hopefully this move can generate some interest into the fed.  Welch has a proven track record in sales and marketing from his previous businesses and we at the HWA saw this as a key area that needed improvement.   Scott has already been hard at work driving the company forward by promoting the site to the media at RottN and other sources.  Hopefully 2005 will be a prosperous year for the HWA and I'd like to thank BRAVO TV for agreeing to air HWA's Walk'a'Bout for a further two months.  Myself and Scott signed the contracts with them yesterday evening with the option of a renewal if HWA reaches a certain amount of views each week". The appointment of Welch is bound to be frowned upon by certain critics due to his shady business dealings in the past.  Scott Welch declared himself bankrupt in 1999 and since then has not been active.  Welch's past battles with the drink are sure to also be a huge talking point as this has been claimed to be one of the main reasons for his failed business ventures.
