| Project Philosophy and Who Brings What To The Table |
| I have found that when everyone involved in a project knows what he or she can expect, and what is expected of them, things run much more smoothly. While I am open to changes and deviations that present themselves during the course of a project, I feel much better if I start with the end in mind and a clear concept of everyone's responsibilities and expectations. In this way I hope to eliminate the misunderstandings and communication problems that can develop when people involved in a project don't have the same concept of what they are doing together. Writing a memoir is a long term project requiring a dedicated commitment from all participants. The time frame can be anywhere from a few months to several years. In order to ensure a successful project, mutual agreements must be made. I agree to: * Keep all interview appointments *When cancellations are inevitable, give notice by phone as far in advance as possible *Return all photos, documents or other items used to produce the memoir in a timely manner *Produce hard copies of interview tapes in an agreed on time frame *Provide a project schedule that is workable and agreeable to all parties involved *Be respectful, open minded and non-judgemental about anything that is discussed within the context of the interview process *Maintain confidentiality as to everything that is revealed within the interview process In return I expect you to : *Keep all interview appointments *When cancellations are inevitable, please notify me by phone as far in advance as possible *Be prepared with any photos, mementos, keepsakes, heirloooms, news artricles, writings or other items you would like to include in any interview session *Keep the kivitching to a minimum |
