About Me
How the idea came about
I learned to read at an early age and it didn't take me long to discover that non fiction, biographies and autobiographies were my favorite type of books.  I spent many hours pouring over the Encyclopedia Britannica volumes my parents had dutifully bought when my older brother was born.  Life has a way of twisting and turning in so many facinating ways, fiction  can't compare.  After reading the Diary of Ann Frank at the age of  8, the sacchrine fiction geared towards children at the time  was shallow and boring in comparison.

I was born in the mad rush to breed after WWII that resulted in the Baby Boom Generation.   We were sent out into the world as young adults with no idea of what the future held in store.   It was the 60's and the possibilities appeared endless.   Since it had already become apparent to me that I wasn't going to live up to my parent's expectation to be a Country Club wife,
I decided that I wanted to write when I was older.  However, I was also honest enough with myself to know I didn't have the knowledge or life experiences to do this.  As a result, I set out to have the most interesting life I could with the plan of writing towards the end.

The adventures of my life have lead me in a wide variety of directions.  One thing that has been consistant though has been my curiosity and interest in other people.  Fortunately I must be easy to talk to because I have had the honor of many people telling me their stories whether it was in a close long term relationship or in a casual encounter at bus stop or grocery store line.

I am curious, determined, persistant, intellegent, resourceful, and creative.  I am a sympathetic listener and have been through enough pain and heartache in my life to appreciate how important those experiences are in the growth process.

This idea of being a Personal Historian has been rolling around in my mind for some years now.  I've spent many hours researching processes, reading autobiographies and writing and organizing my thoughts on the subject.  I was both surprised and excited to find there are other people out there who are making a living doing  this.  I once read a book entitled,
Do What You Love, The  Money Will Come.  Putting together this web site was one more step in the direction of making this a reality.

If you are interested in writing your own story and would like help with the process, please contact me.  Every one of us has a story, are you willing to go softly into the night without telling yours?
