Yoruba gods You would be really AMAZED at the affinities between ancient Europe and this rich culture in West Africa. The Yorubas are pagans, of course, of one sort quite the same as Celts and Greeks. But not only that, I am convinced some of their myths come from the same roots as European ones. Check for instance Shango, and compare him to the "Sacred King" myths of Europe and the Mediterranean. Shango might be simply one more variant of Herakles!
