The Manor
House in County Durham used to be an orphanage, the bodies
of children have been found buried in the gardens of
the property. Now it is a pub and restaurant, but ghostly
activity has been seen and heard at different times and
by different people.
The thing that sets this investigation apart from others
is that one of the residents of the Manor House, a small
child, has been attacked by what could be described as
Poltergeist activity!
While Phil Whyman carried out the base line tests he
had a talk to the child who described what had happened
to him. The child claims he was thrown out of his bed
one night by something. When he went to his mother she
noticed bruising on the child as if he had been manhandled!
The child also claims that the ghosts of children want
him to play games with them.
When Derek arrived he was drawn to room 8, the room
which the child was attacked in and said that he sensed
a vortex in the room, he claimed that there was a dangerous
spirit present who had the power to literally throw objects
around the room. Derek picks up on the child's skeletons
found in the garden and also some other events witnessed
by people.
The team go to investigate the cellar
and while they neither hear or see anything at first, suddenly,
Yvette,
screams and claims she heard a gasping noise in her ear.
She is visibly shaken and very upset by the occurrence.
Then, Richard Felix radios them to say that he has seen
orbs in one of the other rooms. Richard is in the monitor
room that has pictures from all the locked off cameras
fed directly to it. He advises the team to go and investigate.
Before they leave the cellar, one other crew member says
something touched his head!
Ian Lawman once again joins the team on this investigation,
he goes to the cellar to hold vigil. While there he claims
to hear the sounds of horses hoofs and children's screams.
He becomes short of breath and feels pressure on his
shoulders. Before long he states that he is feeling very
uneasy and is starting to become scared!
When the team go to the room Richard observed the orbs
in, Derek says the evil spirit is in the room! After
a noise is heard in the corridor, Phil goes to investigate,
no sooner has he left the room than a bang is heard from
behind the team. Phil's clip board has been thrown to
the floor, he placed it down before he went to investigate
the first noise! As nobody was near the board, the reason
for this happening is beyond the teams explanation. After
this happened, Derek asks Yvette to call out to the spirit
to prove he was present. After calling out a third time
Derek is suddenly and violently possessed by the spirit!
He grabs and throws one of the lamps in the room, narrowly
missing a crew member! It takes several members of the
crew to restrain Derek. When the ordeal was over, Derek
looked drained and was clearly upset from what had happened.
When Ian takes over from Derek, he claims that the spirit
wants them out of the house and would do everything it
could to get them out.
Later team
members Karl, Rik and Stuart go back to room 8 to hold
a vigil. After a short time
in the room Rik
sees a flash of light and then some noises are heard.
Rik then starts to ask the evil spirit to show itself,
when nothing happens he asks again and then finally challenges
the spirit to do it's best to scare them... Just as Rik
finishes the challenge there is a loud thud from one
corner of the room and the TV set switches itself on!
Panic grips the team, Karl is startled and tries to run,
followed closely by Rik who is both terrified and shouting, "Nobody
is going to believe this, nobody is going to believe
this..." Stuart is curled up on a bed in the room
hiding his face in fright! Phil Whyman arrives to see
what all the screaming is about, he later describes the
scene as pandemonium!
After watching every episode of Most Haunted and Most
Haunted Live, I can honestly say I've never seen Karl,
Rik or Stuart so terrified, there may well be a logical
explanation for what happened, I don't know. But the
look of blind panic on their faces convinced me that
whatever it was, it was real.
At the end of this investigation, the
family asked for help to rid the spirits from the house.
Ian Lawman performed
an exorcism to guide the spirits to their final resting
places. No paranormal activity has since been recorded.
