Craig-y-Nos
is a gothic mansion situated in the Welsh valleys. It
was built in the 1840's and is currently in the process
of being restored. It was once the home of Opera singer
Adelina Patti who lived there for nearly 50 years. The
theatre that adorns the main building was created by
Adelina and is said to be haunted by her spirit to this
day!
The investigation started with a bump while both Phil
Whyman and Karl Beattie were carrying out the baseline
tests. A loud bang was heard to come from part of the
building, but nothing was found and nobody else was in
the building at the time!
Before the investigation started the team brought in
Bryan Shepard, a physic artist and asked him what he
could sense. He sketched out a picture of a women and
later added a man stating the picture felt incomplete
at first. The picture resembled Adelina and Rossini for
whom she had appeared in many operas.
Once Derek arrived the investigation started. It wasn't
long before Derek had made contact with some of the spirits
of the past inhabitants of Craig-y-Nos. One story Derek
picked up on was of a small child, a boy, between the
age of 2 and 7 that had been pushed to his death from
a window by his mother! No record of this incident could
be found.
Later Derek claimed he had been struck
on the back of the neck by a spirit who was trying to silence
him, at
almost the same time a laugh can be heard! Members of
the crew also hear it but nobody can account for it.
As the night progresses more and more noises can be
heard, some bangs, but others sound like sighs or deep
breaths. This is spooky because in 1922 the building
was bought and converted into an hospital to take care
of people with TB. Were these breathing noises connected??
In the past people have claimed to have seen ghostly
patients walking through areas of the house!
On one of the vigils some of the crew spend some time
in the Theatre created by Adelina, they ask if Adelina
Patti is present and are soon answered with a bang and
then blinking light anomalies that seem to come from
the same place as the noise.
Everybody on the investigation shows
signs of being anxious, afraid or just plain terrified. On
more than
one occasion crew members say they feel that there is
a strange presence about the place and with the unexplainable
noises and lightanomalies caught
on camera I think they could be right.
