Has a slender petite build making her seem like a a strong gust of wind would knock her over. Complexion: Complexion is paler than most and she tends to burn quite easily when in the sun for long periods of time. Distinguishing marks: Bears many tiny scars, almost unnoticeable to those who don't look for them, around her arms and legs from her romping and playing during her childhood years and one noticeable scar along the side of her thigh from an accident with a belt knife. Handedness: Right Jewelry/weapons: A belt knife and a few pieces of jewelry passed down from her family to include a broach, a pair of silver hair combs and a ring with a flawless black stone surrounded by tiny blue crystals. Clothing: Prefers pants and shorts than dresses and skirts, finding the later two to be uncomfortable, and tends to stick with the lighter blues, greens and earthen tones. The only time she really dresses up is for important occasions such as Gathers or Hatchings. Background Azurina was a product of a mating flight between her parents, who became weyrmated soon after. Unlike most dragonriders, she was never fostered out to another because her mother, soon after giving birth, fell ill and was unable to return to the wing for quite some time. She spent much of her early turns in close relations to her eldest brother and was soon on the way to dreaming of becoming a healer just like he wanted to be. When she was 3 turns old, her youngest brother was born, and she ended up spending most of her time trying to stay out of everyones way while they tended to the new infant. Over the turns she began to withdraw herself, daydreaming of leaving the weyr and becoming the world's greatest healer, traveling alongside her brother when her father came up to her out of the blue and took her to the Weyrleadership to be notified that she could become a candidate. At that time, she didn't think much of it, not really wanting to be one. Her parents were busy with their duties and caring for the newest child, her sister. She had become closer to her brother and she felt that her life would be more exciting out of the Weyr. Eventually, a few turns later and after never leaving the Weyr to pursue her dreams, she was coaxed into becoming a candidate and soon after impressed the queen egg, Melianth. At that moment, when both minds met, she was glad that she stayed and wondered how she could have even thought of leaving. When the plague hit, it devastated everything around her. Both her father and sister were taken and her mother grew so ill, all thought she would be next. Riders and dragons alike were dying all around her. Responsibilities were being shifted about and she took it on without a complaint although inside, she was slowly crumbling under the weight. When all thought the plague had neared its end, the Weyrwoman was stricken and soon after died. There were only 2 goldriders left and she knew that whichever was to rise first would become the new Weyrwoman. Little did she know that hers would be the one and that she would have the weight of the Weyr on her shoulders. She's very caring to those who are close and because of such comfortableness, tends to let down her guard and show a different side of herself. She is slow to anger, normally just taking everything in stride, but once she has been pushed far enough, she breaks and loses control, lashing out at all around her. She is always willing to give one a second chance and tries to be as fair as she can be, often consulting the Weyrleader on items for a fresh outlook on the problem. But screw up the third time... Pets Tara, green firelizard Other Loves sweets of any kind. Takes her klah with tons of honey, not liking the taste of the bitterness in the drink. She's a bit of a packrat, saving everything that has the slightest hint of importance to her. Likes to dance, and swim, and absolutely loves to cook. Whenever she can get a chance, you'll find her in the kitchens, irritating the cooks to no end. Dragon Information Dragon's Name: Melianth Color: Gold Size: 72ft in length, 146ft wingspan Where and When Impressed: Mornings Dawn Weyr, 06.09.26 Sire/Dam: Yasimyth/Lokanyth Wing: Aurora Physical Appearance Melianth is small gold, only a bit larger than that of most bronzes. Her hide is the color of molten sand, giving glints of lighter and darker tones in the sunlight. Her body is well toned and she bears only one mark on her haunches where thread grazed her during fall. Personality Melianth is almost the complete opposite of her rider. While Azurina is serious and quiet all the time, Melianth is almost always in a cheerful mood, brightening up those around her. She takes great pride in leading her wing during fall and becomes very serious, making sure that all in her wing are well and that no thread slips by. She is very protective of her rider and has been known to show anger to those who have harmed her (emotionally or physically), but will not hold a grudge, well not long anyways. Abilities Because of her smaller size, her agility and speed is great, allowing her to weave in and out in every which way when fight thread. But on the down side, she lacks in stamina, and during times of fall, especially times of long fall, she tends to come back to the Weyr grayish in color from pure exhaustion. Relationships Melianth gets along with all, including those pesky little flitters who seem to annoy most. When angered towards human, dragon, beast alike, the anger soon dissipates and all becomes well. She is especially close to the Weyrleaders bronze now, and becomes very possessive from time to time when others are near. Strengths and Weaknesses Melianth is a very fast dragon, able to maneuver in and out of difficult spaces due to her size. On the down side of that, her stamina could use some work as she tends to tire out more quickly that the others of her size.
