| Autumn on Great Moose Lake | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Although it's considered "off season", October and November are two of best months to get away to the solitude of this lakefront home. October brings with it some of prettiest foliage you'll ever see and November lets us know its time to fire up the wood stove and put all the water toys away for the year. Also, if you're like me and enjoy stargazing, these two months bring with them the clearest most brilliant skies of the year. I bought a place just south of Great Moose Lake years ago, here are some of the photos I've taken from that lake (Locke Pond). |

| Thanks Bill and Dee McCarthy for the pics! Bill and Dee took these pictures the last week of October, while most of the maples have shed their leaves, there's still some residual color on the late maples and oaks. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Northeast Cove's last foliage gasp! This panorama was taken Oct 23rd under cloudy skies (hey, it does happen now and then). There were still alot of reds, yellows and oranges but also alot of bare maples. A week from now the only color left will be from the evergreens and the oaks. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Took this panorama shot the weekend of Oct 2nd on Locke pond (to the southwest of Great Moose Lake). While some of the swamp maples are already deep reds and oranges, the majority of the foliage has not yet turned. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| On the weekend of September 25th, the foliage was just starting to turn brilliant reds, yellows and oranges. I'm guessing it's going to be another two weeks before the color is at its peek. This photo was taken Sunday morning September 26th. This was the first day the house was unrented since I purchased it, so I took the opportunity to kick back and do nothing! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
