Autumn In Maine |
Autumn in Maine is simply breathtaking. I bought a camp just outside of Farmington Maine several years ago and every year I look forward not to just the summer, but the last two weeks of September and the first two weeks of October. The foliage just turns brilliant reds, oranges and yellows and the chill in the air as well as the smell of the first wood fires of the coming winter will give you memories that will last a lifetime. One tradition that I started with my daughters years ago was to take them apple picking during our autumn weekends in Maine, this has become something we anticipate as those first few cool days start creeping into the end of August and the beginning of September. |

These pictures were taken in the fall of 2003 on Locke pond, a nearby body of water to Great Moose Lake. This gives you an idea of the extraordinary beauty that an autumn vacation in the lakes region of Maine offers. |

Here's one of my little rug-rats showing off one of her apples. Autumn in Maine will frequently surprise its visitors with balmy September and October afternoons as evidenced by this shot of my girls in their bathing suits (yes, they had just come out of the lake). |
