Most inhabitants of Cat Ba Island live on boats just off the island ...
The 5hr-long boat trip through Halong Bay is certainly an unforgettable experience. The views are majestic and it is so relaxing. There are plenty of stops along the way to see caves and islands.
The boat trip leads to Cat Ba Island for a 1-night stay up to a 7-night stay (organised by a choice of local tours from Hanoi).
As you can see in these images the market sells everything from fresh tobaccos (above), veges, livestock (left) and various 'utensils' (far left).

A wonderous view of the vast ruins at Mi Son, 2hr drive from Hue. Getting to the site involves a short satisfying walk.
one day, yet you still want to get up the next morning and do that walk again. It's so very relaxing there. Many things to do and a nice variety of food to taste!

Bac Ha is a  wonderfully vibrant market village located in the far north of Vietnam. We took a trip right to the border of Vietnam and China by this village.
Hoi An, my absolute favourite town in all of Vietnam (and many travellers share my view). It is such a serene town where you can just walk through the entire town
