Recording artists today are faced with many factors, and one that ultimately effects the outcome of their career, is the reach of their grasp. Record labels exist to provide a larger ability for the artist to reach their target market or their FANS. Another factor that musicians must weigh is the investment earn back potential of their music. Investors exist to provide the musician with the money to gain them access to a larger audience then they could originally on their own, reach.
Musicians also tend to have earning potential from 4 different earning streams !
a. Record sales
b. Publishing
c. Venue Play
e. Merchandising
What this means is musicians have the opportunity to earn money from several different sources at one time. This protects the musician from the old ( ALL IN ONE BASKET ) idea. BUT the different earning streams are directly effected by the preceding one. Meaning IF you want to go on the road and not do a album its harder due to the fact that a tour or live venue play at this level is used in a 2 fold manner meaning to earn the artist money in another earning stream and to create greater profit on the original earning stream. Same with publishing and merchandising. Publishing is tied into the album and its sales as well as airplay and the merchandising is effected by the touring. So why play in a Bar and not sell a CD when you could earn two times more money for the same effort or EVEN LESS.
This is why a record label exists, to provide the musician a way to get in touch with their fans and help them with their business of producing music and providing entertainment for their fans.
Musicians may apply for a ( On-line Record Deal ) threw our Artist and Repertoire Department.
What we are offering here is the opportunity to sell and promote your already recorded music threw our online record label web domain.
Once you have been verified you will be contacted by your own A & R representative via e-mail and you will receive our ( Online Recording Contract Proposal ) web site link. Just go to this page and you will be allowed to review the contract proposal your A & R representative will have written up.

( If yo are in a band - LISTEN UP, ok a band receives equal pay for equal effort. This means if you are in a band and you as a group get 8 % on your deal, for a 4 member band this means you each get 2 %.)
To register with Moonkloud Records as a band, group or collaboration please have each member of your band fill out the M.I.R A&R Record Deal Request Form, after each member has been verified fill out the Artist Collaboration Form on the Membership Administration Directory and your group will be registered.
All bands must have their individual members fill out the M.I.R A&R Record Deal Request Form, this is just a formality for background information. Please have each person fill out separate, M.I.R A&R Record Deal Request Forms and online recording contracts.
This is to protect you as a artist from a band breakup or some other fallback from the group deals. Your contract percentage will be split evenly between all members of your group when paid.
The split percentage system will also apply for all ( Collaborations ) as well. This means if YOU are a recording artist and you just met someone who isn't a recording artist and you two want to record and release a c.d.. Just have that person sign up and fill out the Artist Collaboration Form and your all set.
Along with collaborations with people who aren't YET a recording artist, our artists are encouraged to collaborate with other moonkloud recording artists currently on the label and other labels artists as well.
Moonkloud Records has set up a ( Membership Administration Directory )
Here members can find all the administration links to change any of their information on file at moonkloud.com. This site will also hold links to other forms and information crucial to your membership.
All Online - M.I.R Recording Artists will receive:
1. A Official Moonkloud Independent Records Recording Artist Certificate and Membership.
This certificate can be framed and hung on the wall in your own recording studio. It makes a great conversation piece and will certify you as a official member.
2. A exclusive publishing deal with Moonkloud Publishing.
Moonkloud Publishing has agreed to give exclusive publishing deals to all Moonkloud Records musicians. They will collect your publishing royalties for you for music played on the Radio or Tv.
( This publishing deal is available to those who do not currently have a publisher. )
3. You will be added to our investment listing.
This service exists to provide you with the ability to get financial backing for commercial record releases.
4. You will be able to sell your cds and other products threw Moonkloud Music: Sound & Style.
Moonkloud Music is a retail store set up online for musicians to sell their Cds threw online. This helps the musician get in a more direct contact with their fans.
5. A Official Moonkloud Independent Records Web Site.
A web site in the moonkloud web domain data base with all your own stats and information for the public to visit and view.
6. Moonkloud Jamcast will stream your music over the Internet.
This service exists to provide a world wide platform for our artists to get exposure to as many people as they can. Jamcast holds shows on a regular basis and you will be eligible for recorded interviews to be played over the net.
7. Artists get an Official Moonkloud Records Fan Club Sign Up Sheet.
A Fan Club can be one of the MOST crucial promotional tools available to musicians. All recording artists get their very own personalized Official Moonkloud Records Fan Club. This Fan Club Sign Up Sheet is to be sent back via our online Fan Club Sign Up Sheet. Once you have received your Fan Club Sign Up Sheet get EVERY ONE you know to fill it out and then return it to you. This Fan Club Sign Up Sheet will be considered a major part of your album release. All recording artists are required to participate in our Fan Club Program. The information you will gather with it will help establish your core target market. This will be important when determining what part of the population to promote your music to the most. All recording artists releases will be promoted threw our Online Fan Club Program. This means if you have 100 people on your Fan Club Sign Up Sheet and someone else has 134 you will be promoted threw a online newsletter to those 234 people.
So think about it like this, if we have 10 artists with 100 fans signed up on the Fan Club Sign Up Sheet your record release will be promoted to the 1000 members of the Fan Club . So NOW I hope you see the benefit of your participation in our Fan Club Program and the importance it plays in YOUR music.
( All recording artists are required to participate in our Fan Club Program. To be eligible for a 2nd term on your recording contract all artists will be required to turn in 300 Fan Club Sign Up Sheets filled out by their fans and turned in by the end of each contract period. )
There are 3 ways to have your fans sign up for our Fan Club Program.
1. Threw our online Fan Club Sign Up Sheet at moonkloud.com
2. You print out copies of your Official Fan Club Sign Up Sheet and and have friends and family sign it. Then you can go online and you can fill out the online form for each person you have sign your Fan Club Sign Up Sheet.
3. You print out copies of your Official Fan Club Sign Up Sheet and and have friends and family Join. Then you can mail them in via the post office. ( ALL post office Fan Club Sign Up Sheets will be mailed in at your expense. ) Small price to pay for what you get out of it.
All Online - Recording artists must be pre-approved by our A & R department before they will receive our ( Online Recording Contract Proposal ) web site link.
All contracts are standard real recording contracts legally binding under U.S and International Law.
