Music Style: (Top)

Classical, Folk, Rock, Metal, Rap

I'm kinda hard to describe as far as "Music Style". I tend to borrow from musical styles and and blend things. Thinking of the music I make in terms of style or genre is really missing half the music. I play all the instruments on my tracks *Except Guest Artist Appearances, and mix my own music. So I use things from all these styles and I tend to Layer the songs together from ground up.

Musical Influences: (Top)

I've played music with allot of people. In doing so, many things rub off. Like when I play with people they pick up my licks and moves. But as far as influences, I love everything from Paco De Lucia with his Classical Flamenco no pick style to Jimi Hendrix and his ability to play rhythm and lead guitar at the same time.

Bio (Top)

At the age of 25 I have had a considerable amount of music business experience. The following is a list of all my qualifications.

At age 3 I moved from California to Catalina island where I participated in a number of music and entertainment like activities as follows.

Avalon grade school choir. Where I performed a number of choir concerts at the Catalina Island Avalon Casino. In the Movie Picture Theater.

I took lessons on free form break dancing and later used this experience to perform as a freeform break dancer to 80's rap and pop. On the Avalon Community stage. In the center of Avalon's Front Street.

At the age of 5 my first guitar lesson took place here on the island where i learned to play traditional Classical and Folk Acoustic Guitar.

Later I moved from Catalina Island to the Big Island of Hawaii where I performed in a number of Kaalakehe Choir music productions where I learned further vocal techniques including singing in my first of what would later become more then 8 other languages. Including Hawaiian, English, French, German, Japanese, Spanish, Hebrew, Russian and several others.

During my time in Hawaii I took several other music classes including Ukulele ( Little Flee ), the Fluteaphone and again more guitar. This time working on more traditional guitar techniques and skills this time on an electric guitar.

Graduated High School with the following experience.

1 semester of Computer Aided Drafting. Passed with a A + On Macintosh computer programs and hardware.

3 1/2 years High school Choir. Where I received 2 MOST IMPROVED Vocalist Awards as well a numerous other awards ( NOT TO EXCLUDE )

Disney's Magic Music Days 1st place Choir Award.

3 Choir Pins

In choir I have sung in all 3 Bass sections and styles. Baritone, Bass and Tenor.

6 months Early Bird High school Band.

1 Band Pin

4 Months Founding Member of Chronic Feedback Solo/Rhythm Guitar player.

Where I took Chronic Feedback from being a Regular garage Band to playing concerts for Homer High school, Homer Flex School and several other Independent Concert Venues. In total Earning over $1000 in the 4 Months we were together.

I was required to participate in Community Service in order to conform with the homer High Graduation Requirements. During this project I choose to put together a music group and throw a small benefit concert for the Homer High, Music Department. The venue we did the concert at, was at a local coffee shop in Homer called Latitude 59. In total I made $15 to donate to the Choir.

After that concert I was later hired by Latitude 59 to do impromptu acoustic music concerts for a full summer. Later I used the same group to play the Homer High ( Pops ) Concert where we played ( Chuck Berry's ) Johnny B Good for a full house of over 545 people. Previous to this concert I had performed at the Pops Concert 1 other time in a solo performance where I played Nirvana's Penny Royalty, again for a Full House.

I was then hired by the Homer High school to play more Impromptu concerts during the schools lunch hour for the students. During which I was given a free lunch every day and allowed by school administration to except tips from the students.

1 summer with the Eric Finger's Jazz Class playing lead and rhythm guitar in several local concerts on the City of Homer's grassy knowle locally known as Brother Izaya's Park. Here I played many Traditional Jazz style songs like Blue Monk and Green Onions Jam.

I played 1 Summer Street Fair sponsored by the Homer Council on the Arts and the City of Homer hosted by (Riplys Believe it or not ) piano star Johnny B. I played for a half hour in a solo performance playing rock n roll remediation songs like All along the watch tower and Wild Thing. I have sense returned to this music venue one other time. This time however I did more then just perform. I MCed the entire gig, I was the first performer of the day followed by an international group from Africa called the chingambass. I was assigned the duty that day of paying all the participating music groups or acts. I handed out over $200 that day to 8 music groups. I was also the recipient of one of those checks. Each group played for a half hour to an hour. I played for 2 hours then Mced the gig for another 5 hours. In doing so I attempted to give myself as much exposure as the booked gig would give me without saturating my market. I started the day with no one on my own mailing list and I ended the day with over 100 people signed up. So the day went better then I could have asked or even imagined. I got to promote the concert on the AIR at KBBI AM 890 Homer Public Radio before and after the show and I used the moonkloud name on the air so it has gained radio recognition. I ended my 2 hour music set which was played with a backing group for 3/4ths of the 2 hours I booked for myself, with a led zeppelin cover tune and that old 70's guitar smashing act with my own 90's twist. ( I was playing a classical acoustic !) At that exact moment I hit the guitar on the ground the first time it made a loud sound and right then I realized I was onto a gold mine. The second swing came 4-5 seconds later. That delay and the strange sound ended up being the best thing I've ever discovered. See the crowd ran toward the stage after the loud noise then even more people positioned them selves to see the stage as the 3 loud sounds went on. I then at that point had DEMOLISHED THE ENTIRE GUITAR. So I dropped the guitar neck left in my hand and looked up. EVERY SINGLE PERSON AT THE WHOLE PLACE WAS LOOKING AT ME. That's where I stepped back off my platform I set up, moved everything off as fast as I could, the mic stand and the guitar in pieces and I held up a BIG 4 x 4 piece of plywood up over my head with a sign painted on it saying Moonkloud moonkloud.com. So in a sense I created a huge disturbance knowing full well everyone would be very concerned with what the sound was they heard REPEATEDLY I furthered this concept with a message I prepared for the crowd to be conveyed right at that precise moment.

3 acts after I went on a high school music group performed with 4 members called MAN ALIVE. The audience that attended their show was primarily high school based. During their 3rd or 4th song a person in the crowd yelled at the band's guitar player to smash his guitar. The kid refused even though he had 2 of them, and the crowd mocked them by saying that the other act did it. This marked a turning point for me as far as the smashing guitar routine see I got injured but I was later ok. The thing that stuck out in my mind was that I was able to finally get the audience to except me as a performer to the point where no one else could even follow me on stage. I went on first and NO ONE all afternoon even came close to what I had done. The MC thing , The 2 hour performance with lots of energy, the backing band then solo act to show I can hold my own and even carry the show to a explosive conclusion, the smashing guitar, all the attention at a precise moment I held up a sign with the message i wanted to convey. And to top it off all the performers knew i was even the one paying them so they weren't to inspired to try and upstage me or try and even compete with the performance I had given. My performance so dominated the crowd that they later ended up mocking the performers for their poor showman ship and refusal to attempt to go another step with their show. I should mention however that the next act after me, the African act was the second contender as far as crowd thrillers go. They followed me and they pulled out some amazing stops. They went as far as to pull out a marimbas and a bowl of water which one of them danced with on her head while on her knees and she only spilled about a swallow of water. She may have not spilled the water at all if they weren't thrown threw a loop with the end of my show. I believe I psychologically got in the ladies head and broke her concentration and that lead to the spill. But to top off this amazing day the final performer was a high school teacher group. This is where it gets even cooler. I ended up paying my old high school principal and my old band teacher from early bird band for their groups performance. I paid each group a $25 dollar check. I was an exception. For all my hard work that day it was prearranged that I would receive double the pay of any other act that day plus free concert tickets from the show sponcer for some upcoming events they had planned. SO in a sense it was the most positive gig I've ever had. Never have I gotten so much attention for 1, 2 hour show. Every person there knew who I was without question. They also will not forget me anytime soon. This I should mention was what I called a trial run. I was perfecting my vision for a larger market. See if I got all of their attention under the right conditions I could get even more with the right expose at my disposal. Like TV, Radio or the Internet. And with an album to promote I will be able to generate sales.

With this concept I myself as a musician will be able to carve out a niche market. I can further draw attention to my other musicians threw this concept as well. SO it could be deemed a promotional stunt in that sense. And a good one I might add !

I was hired by a business in homer called Kaleidoscope to promote there business to the high school kids by ( PLAYING THEIR GUITARS ) at any one of the venues I was doing at the time. Later I was hired to play Kaleidoscope as a music venue for a Full House.

After High school I went to collage at Musicians Institute in Hollywood California at the age of 18. I spent 6 months playing with and learning from some of today's hottest musicians in the business at Musician's Institute in Hollywood California, participating in their GIT Guitar Institute of Technology program. During that time I was personally mentored by and either played with/opened for all / or received training from Eric Pascal my personal instructor who specialized in Country Music, Keith Wyatt, Pat Martino, Guitar Magazines Paul Gilbert and Alex Sckolnick, Bruce Buckingham, Beth Merlis, Danny Gill, Ross Bolton , MASTA , Tommie Todesko from M*A*S*H, Robin Randall from Baywatch, Steve Vai from the movie Crossroads, Danny Gill who instructed Michael J Fox in the end scene of Back to the Future and many more...
