6-Point Roll Bar Installation

This is something I had resisted doing for a while because of the cost and added weight involved.   It became an issue because most tracks require a bar when you run under 12.00.

The bar was custom bent from 1 3/4" mild steel tubing by
Montana Brothers Racing in North Bay Shore, NY.  The bars are welded to the frame thru the floor for the main hoop and front mounting points.  The 2 trunk bars go thru the trunk floor and weld to the upper spring perches.  Here is what the car looked like when I got it home.

I
primered everything and painted the bars with Ace Hardware Wrought Iron Black.  I also put some Por-15 down on the floor after I grinded away some surface rust.  I had to trim the carpet and some interior pieces to get them back in.

Nicky at Montana also installed a very nice rear firewall, which looks like it's made from powdercoated sheetmetal.

I made my own rear-seat delete (saves almost 30 pounds) from some
insulation foam and carpet.  The foam was needed to fill in the wells under the rear seat area. The foam was purchased at Home Depot, along with Velcro to attach.  The carpet is from Auto Custom Carpets (ACC).
