Take a deep breath... Can you smell it? Winter is on the way. Today was another great day. I stepped outside today and it was just beautiful. The weather was amazing. I only wished I didn't have to spend the entire day at work.

I decided while I was walking to my car that I was going to put in for a few days off. I have a lot of vacation time saved up. It will give me a chance to unwind and just relax. I have been really uptight at work lately.

It was a good day today though. I got my jobs done and it gave me a chance to actually work on some jobs for tomorrow. I also checked out some stuff on the web.

That is the great thing about working in a computer department. I have access to the web ALL day long. I check my email about 20 times a day just hoping I get something. HINT HINT HINT...

It shouldn't be too long before my site reaches some of the search engines I applied to. I have thought about what would happen if my friends found this site. I know some of them will, but I just wouldn't know what to think about that. I would be afraid that I would hold back information knowing that they knew. Well I'm just going to kick back and wait for that situation to happen before I worry about it.

After work tonight I went over to mike's house in Raleigh. Mike is a manager at my computer job. He called and said he had a keg of beer and some people were coming over. I drove into Raleigh, (something I hate to do by the way.) and finally found his house after about 15 minutes of searching. A lot of the people had left by the time I got there.

Well mike was showing me around his house when his other roommate came down the stairs with a girl. I was looking around when I heard, "Danny!" I turned and was soooo shocked to see Brooke. I used to work with Brooke at the restaurant.

Brooke stands at about 5'2". She is really great. We used to hang out all the time but we lost touch. I was just really shocked. Raleigh is a pretty big city. Out of about a million homes in this area, I run into brooke.

She is a massage therapist now. Hmmm maybe Ill get brooke to give me a nice backrub sometime. :o) Well after awhile at mikes I decided to head back home. I was starving so I stopped by the store to pick up some grub.

I walked past the magazine section and BAM! The sporting news had out the pre-season college basketball polls. Lets get something straight... I LOVE COLLEGE BASKETBALL. You cant live in Kansas and not love basketball. Well unless you go to Kansas State, then you like football. (Kudos by the way to K-state this year. they are kicking ass in football.)

Anyway. I went to KU for a semester and that college is all about basketball. The football coaches all complain that during football season all the fans talk about the next basketball season. Well they had KU ranked 9. not too bad for losing two great players last year. They will do great I'm sure.

After reading about that for a bit, I glanced over at the computer games magazine and BAM again. They had a big write up on Quake 3.

I couldn't read it because they had that irritating plastic wrap around it. Those things really piss me off. I was close to ripping it out of the plastic, but I behaved myself and just admired it from the outside. I would have bought it but it cost 8.99.

Ummm no! My computer job is located right next to a bookstore. We share the dumpsters and recycling bins  with the bookstore, after the magazines expire, they rip the covers off and throw the rest away.

We are constantly digging through the recycle bins for all our reading material. You can find some decent stuff in there.

Well that is about it for my exciting day. Oh yeah, I want to share a little computer trick with all of you.

For those of you with windows 95... Go to the start button, go up to settings tab, then click on the control panel. Once in the control panel click on the display button, then click screen savers. Under screen savers choose the 3-D text screen saver.

Click on the settings button, once in there you will see a display section click the radial button next to the text option, enter some text, then hit ok. You can then preview the screen saver. Watch it for a little while and see what it does. Yeah neat right.

Go back and do all the same stuff, except this time instead of just entering text in the box, enter the word "volcano". The guy who designed the program was a huge fan of volcano's.

He programmed something secret in there. hit ok and check it out. It isn't anything really great, but it is a secret that most people dont know about it. By the way, my roomate Jon told me about that.  Do you have any secrets like that? Let me know! I love stuff like that. I'm off! niters.

So I was on the ice with a hockey stick in hand. Behind me was a 5' tall girl named amber. She was the goalie. We were facing another team of two, with no refs on the ice. The game started and I quickly made my way towards the opponets net.

I saw my chance and shot, missing the net by about 20 feet. What was up with that? I managed to get the puck back fairly quickly. Again getting within firing distance. This time the puck shot toward the goal hitting the frame and bouncing back.

I kept repeating this over and over. "What the hell is the deal?" After about 5 minutes Amber grew tired of just sitting back in the goalie box, and came forward to take a shot at scoring. I was yelling at her to get back in the goal but she was not listening.

She stole the puck away from me and took a shot, scoring the first time. I woke up after that. What a weird dream.

Remind me never to play hockey. Actually we used to play hockey on a frozen river in Kansas. It was actually us holding some make shift sticks playing with a rock. I think my brother was the only one with a real hockey stick, a broken hockey stick with duct tape holding it together, but all the same he thought he was the shit.

Jon downloaded an add-on to Quake2 called Chaos deathmatch. All I can say is I was having a blast!! It is a lot like quake but with entirely different weapons. You can drop grenades that sit there until your opponent comes around. Then they start chasing him/her around and explodes when they get within distance.

I was doing really good for a long time, Then jon got warmed up and kicked my ass for awhile.

OK, one more little comment about techno stuff. I went next door to the bookstore for my lunch break and low and behold they had the quake 3 magazine out of the plastic. (no I didn't cheat and unwrap it, someone else did! :o) )

I sat and read that on break. That game is going to be amazing. The graphics are just crazy. It is so realistic looking.

I might be joining Jenn and the rest of the gang tonight for karaoke. Im not sure yet though. We will see.  Jenn is in Fayetteville visiting Heather.  Heather is in Fayetteville opening up a new restaurant.  She has to train all the new people and stuff.

If any of you have worked in the restaurant biz you know what I am talking about.  I miss Heather.  So hopefully Jenn gets home in time for us to go out.  I'm sure she will make it.

Well I am going to cut this entry short. Talk soon!
