Birdie was our first bird and as
such she feels that she runs the house. She also feels that she is too wonderful
and special to
play with the other birds, so she only passes them a fleeting glance as if they really
aren't there. She is the Number 1 bird. Birdie is a yellow and grey pied cockatiel. Kinan brought her home one night from Dallas, Texas where he was working. He didn't feel like driving home alone that night so he stopped by a pet store and there she was! I guess it was love at first site.
He brought Birdie home with him and she has been with us ever since. Now she is so
comfortable in the house that she is constantly laying eggs, thinking that "Wow, they
feed me, play with me and treat me good... What a great place for my babies!"
Too bad she doesn't realize that her eggs won't hatch since she has to first mate with a
male bird. The likelihood of that happening is probably slim to none, since she and Tiger,
our other cockatiel, really can't stand each other. Nevertheless,
when she
sits on her eggs like a good mommy bird, she attacks anyone that comes next to
her or her eggs. Birdie likes showering, getting neck rubs and flying around the house real fast. She loves to eat cream cheese, crunchy bread, Tostitos, spaghetti sauce, pretzels (but not too much salt), and anything else you're eating at the moment, even out of your mouth. She is very spoiled and she knows it. She is the boss. Birdie's full name is Birdie Num Num. Her nicknames are Monster Bird, Doo Doo, Roo Roo, and Dum Dum. |
