The history of HOT RODDING
Hot rodding started in some form in the early twenties. Here young men started to strip down their every day cars to gain more speed.
With the advent of illegal racing more cars were stripped apart, raced on the weekend and driven in this guise during the week. They were commonly called gow jobs or jalopies.
Over the pursuing years more car racing activities came about and so did the early origins of hot rodding. It was not until the end of WWII that serviceman returning home that the real origins of hot rodding came about. With money and plenty of enthusiasm they quickly got back into their old cars or bought another from the vast abundance of pre war cars to hot rod.
The 1950's are considered as the boom years for hot rodding and this period in time is recognised as the beginnings of hot rodding as we know it to day. As the years have progressed so has hot rodding, it is now one of the world's most actively participated sports and also an integeral part of the automotive industry that contributes multi billions of dollars to the growth domestic product of many countries.
Many successful people, various forms of motor racing, auto industry products and support industries started also their origins from the early days of hot rodding.
