| Chapter 17 |
| After running for what they thought to be hours, Christian had to stop. They found an old cave that shielded them from the cold and the fierce wind. Stacy sat Christian against the wall. How far do you think weve gotten? She asked. I honestly dont know, Christian replied breathlessly. The running and the fact that he was losing blood made him run out of breath. We should be safe here for a while, at least a couple of days if this blizzard keeps up. He sunk down a little from being tired, but groaned in pain. " Here let me see that. Said Stacy. She lifted his shirt up enough to see his wound. He had a small hole through his side, which she could tell was mad by a bullet. Blood kept oozing out from the open wound. She wasnt a doctor so she couldnt possibly get the bullet out herself. Im going to wrap this around your waist ok? Hopefully it should make the blood stop. Stacy said. She ripped the rim of her dress and tied it tight around Christian. He winced in pain, but remained quiet. They sat together with their arms around one another against the wall. Soon the blood had stopped and dried. Im going to find some sticks and TRY to make a fire. Stay right here until I get back. Stacy ordered. Christian just saluted her not able to speak for his painful screams would come out. |
