Activities
.
General Meetings: Held monthly, offering speakers and discussions on relevant topics. The children play and do crafts at one end of the room, while we have our meeting at the other. Or at least that's the plan! Due to safety reasons we cannot post the location of our meetings on this website. However, if you would send us an email with your name and phone number we would be happy to give you a call and tell you all about our general meeting
Community Service Project: The community service project varies from year to year, but always supports local children. The project for 2007 was a car seat safety check for the public in conjunction with the SV Fire Dept. The chapter was able to purchase and donate 6 car seats to help insure the safety of children in Sierra Vista.
Coffee Tasters Group: A fun and exciting get together to try new and exotic coffees over some girl time while the kids play.
Helping Hands: A hugely popular initiative we are very proud of: members support other members who are in need by making meals, helping with cleaning, babysitting, etc., at those times (just after a new baby, for example) when it's most appreciated.
Kids Activities/Crafts: All manner of crafts and activities on an adhoc basis. These will be organized regularly by the club, but if a member has an idea or would like to organize something, we'd be delighted.
MOMS Night Out: This is a chance for the dads to enjoy quality time with the children. Once a month moms get together for an evening of fun at the movies or a local restaurant.
* Playgroups: Meet with other moms and children for an activity geared toward the child's age. May be held in member's homes, parks, or anywhere the group decides to meet. The club has several playgroups divided by age, and we can arrange more as our membership grows. One mom from each group acts as the co-ordinator to make sure that everyone knows where and when!
* Please be aware that MOMS Club is about much more than the weekly playgroups, and there is no guarantee that there will be a playgroup available in your child's age group, or that the group will not be full. When playgroups in different age ranges become full, new members are invited to start another playgroup for that age range, as other new members who have children of the same age join the club.
Book Club: A book is chosen to be read monthly and participants then meet to discuss.
Park Days: Simple but effective - we pick a park several times per month, and meet up with sand toys and balls and let the kids play.
Field Trips: Once per month we plan a major outing to a special point of interest.
Tours: Structured tours of a local facility or restaurant for the children (accompanied by mom). These outings are great! Recent tours have included Vinny's Pizza (complete with Pizza throwing demonstration), the Fire Station, and the Municipal Airport.
Breakfast with Mom: Breakfast for as long as the kids will last, followed by playtime at the mall play area - once or twice per month.
Walking Club: Get in shape and socialize!
Coupon Swap: Bring your unwanted coupons with you to General Meetings, and swap them for coupons you can use.
