Playgroups
We offer weekly playgroups. Currently, we have divided the playgroups into a Johnson City group and a Jonesborough group. These small groups meet at homes, in the park, or wherever
the particular group may choose.
Monthly Activities
We schedule a wide
variety of free or low-cost activities each month from park days
to craft activities to lunch at kid-friendly restaurants,
museum visits, and holiday affairs. Past outings have included trips to the
Hands On Museum, the ARK Farm, Fender's Farm Pumpkin Picking,
and an Apple orchard in the mountains of Unicoi.
Mom's Night Out
Once per month the MOMS Club enjoys Mom's Night Out (MNO). It allows some of the Moms to have a night out with one another and the Dads get to spend some time with the kids. Of course, as with all MOMS Club events, children are welcome. Activities include movies, gathering at a member's home, and eating at a nice restaurant.
Service/Charitable Projects
A key aspect of our
club is performing service projects. We try to engage in a
charitable or service project once a quarter, and we encourage
all members to become involved. We participate with our
children in numerous charitable activities to foster in them a
strong sense of philanthropy, compassion, social welfare, and
community involvement.
Business Meetings
We frequently feature guest speakers who address issues such as child development and safety, parenting, living on a budget, local artists, and child-centered activities. All members are encouraged to attend so they can vote on or discuss any MOMS Club ® business. We hold our meeting on the
third Monday of every month.
Newsletter
Each month our club
publishes a newsletter that is sent to all of our members.
The newsletter provides club news, parenting tips, the calendar
of activities, and much more.
Helping Hands Support
Our members support each other through our Helping Hands program. We provide meals, run errands, help with household tasks and babysitting, not to mention give emotional support duing those times when extra help is needed. These times include such events as delivering a baby, illness, or times when our partners are on extended leave.
