MOMS Club ® bylaws require one service project per year. We do much more than that! Participating in our service projects gives our members opportunities to directly affect our community and makes us feel great! Examples of past service projects include:
~ Collecting food for a food bank
~ Hosting a garage sale, with items donated by our club, to raise money for Sheltering Wings or Relay for Life
~ Sponsoring and fielding a Relay for Life Team, and raising $3,800 for the American Cancer Society!!
~ Donating books to Riley Hospital for Children
~ Donating money and items to Project ANGEL
~ Thanking our firefighters and police officers by bringing them cookies
~ Co-sponsoring a Preschool Fair, with almost $1,300 in proceeds going to local and national nonprofit organizations and charities!
Please contact us if you have suggestions about a new service project or would like to partner with us ~ we are always looking for new ways to improve our community and the lives of families and children!
Dues:
Our dues are $25 per year. This money helps cover the cost of administrative supplies, activites and other programs. We are an IRS registered non-profit group, so any money collected for MOMS Club ® will be used exclusively for our programs and projects. We understand that being a stay at home mom may mean a tight family budget, so if dues would be a hardship for your family, please talk to the group president.
Welcome Newcomers:
Please don't feel shy about coming to our meetings. It is a wonderful way to meet other moms with similar interests. In growing Hendricks County, you probably won't be the only new person there! Remember, we have one thing in common: We're all moms!
Our History:
The MOMS Club ® of Avon/Brownsburg, IN held its first meeting in March 2001. It began with six founding members and quickly grew to 30 members in two months! Our club now maintains between 30 and 35 members.
General Business Meetings:
The MOMS Club ® general meeting is the first Monday of every month. We meet at a local church at 10:00A.M. Contact Heather at [email protected] for details.
Children Welcome:
MOMS Club ® believes being a mother shouldn't isolate you, so children are welcome at our activities. However, you need not bring your children to attend. When your children are present, you are responsible for their safety and behavior. NOTE: Feel free to nurse your infant at our meetings.
