Playgroups - We meet at least once a week at a local church, member's house, or park for an all ages play group. It's a great time for kids to play and moms to get to know one another better. We have an Avon Playgroup and a Brownsburg Playgroup. These groups are separate in order to keep the numbers down, so as not to overwhelm the hostess. With 30+ members, two playgroups are necessary!
Craft and Story Time - Each month we have a scheduled craft day for the kids. Craft ideas usually correspond with the current holiday or season, and the hostess usually reads a storybook that corresponds with the theme.
Field trips- We have a least one field trip a month. In the past, we have gone to The Children's Museum, the firestation, Chuck E. Cheese, the Zoo, Splash Island, hayrides, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the Nature Center at Eagle Creek Park, and Safari in Pets pet store for hands-on fun.
Music and Motion - This is a new activity that we have been trying for the past few months, involving a music-based play curriculum. We have held it at local libraries and used parachutes and other fun games to get the kids moving.
Mom's Night Out - Once a month we enjoy a night out. We alternate between a night out on the town and a game or movie night at a member's home.
Special Children's/Family Events - We usually plan several special events a year, which might include an Spring Party, Valentine's Day Party, St. Patrick's Day Party, Fall Party, Holiday Party, and an annual Summer Cook-out.
