Monday, September 26, 2005 33 weeks, 2 days I had yet another appointment today. It was in the afternoon rather than the morning and both babies were so cooperative. I am scheduling all my NST for the afternoon now. I saw Charlotte doing her "practice breathing" on ultrasound. He said that I will go off the terbutaline next week and if I start labor, it will not be stopped. I'll be 34 weeks. I have a feeling the babies are chunkers. He also upped my dose of terbutaline. I was on 5 mg every 6 hours, now it's 5 mg every 3 hours. My contractions usually started up half way between doses.
Thursday, September 29 - Tuesday, October 4, 2005 33 weeks, 5 days - 34 weeks, 3 days Thursday morning I carried Carly to her 3 year check up. I began contracting and was in severe pain. I went to the dr early (my appt was scheduled for 2:40 pm, but I went in at 11:30 am instead). They did a NST and saw that I was contracting. They admitted me upstairs to L&D. Around 8 pm, they decided that my contractions being as strong as they were and the fact that I had dilated 2 cm warranted a trip to the trauma hospital (adjoined to the children's hospital). They gave me a dose of steroids and began magnesium sulfate for contractions and antibiotics since my Group B Strep test was not back yet. I was transported an hour away to the specialty L&D and kept there until Saturday morning. I received two rounds of steroids and tons of magnesium. On Saturday morning, they moved me to another part of the maternity floor and stopped everything but the antibiotic. I was told they would do nothing to prevent labor, but nothing to speed it along either. I was contracting about every 10 minutes and had dilated to 3 cm. I was also in a tremendous amount of pain. They planned to keep me until 10/8 but I told them heck no. They released me Monday evening. I was contracting about the same and was only dilated 3 cm. Well, I got home and after an hour, my contractions were 5-7 minutes apart and intense. So, I went to my local hospital. They gave me pain meds and sent me home Tuesday morning. I am still contracting. I am swollen bad. I am so miserable. They won't give me anything for pain either. They did do a growth scan when I was in the hospital. Charlotte weighs approximately 5.12 lbs. and Caitlyn weighs approximately 5.2 lbs. I am hoping they will do something next week when I'm 35 weeks. I can't take anymore of this. I am measuring 41 weeks at 34 weeks.
Wednesday, October 5, 2005 34 weeks, 4 days I went in for an appointment this morning. The dr. did an u/s to check and see if there was enough fluid to do an amnio and see if they are mature enough to be born. There is enough fluid but no way to get the needle in there without hitting a baby.

Friday, October 7, 2005 34 weeks, 6 days I went in for my appointment today. I have lost 3 pounds since Wed, probably from the swelling going down. They really did nothing except check the urine, BP, and heartbeats. I was told that if I went into labor on my own, they would not stop it it. Well, duh, right???? Chris is highly upset over it. We KNOW that my body does not labor on its own. I have had two previous children and I can contract but nothing else. I always have to have medical intervention to dilate. So, another words, they're not going to do anything if my body doesn't naturally do it so I'll probably deliver at 41 weeks when they realize I'm overdue. It is so freaking frustrating. They have my whole reproductive history right in front of them and all they can say is "Your body's not ready." I KNOW my body is trying to get them out but my cervix has always been messed up and needs some help. So, I get to contract until they buy a clue. Next Appointment: Thursday, October 13, 2005 @ 11:10 am (35 weeks, 5 days)
