Great News! I have received full funding from the Friends of Music to aid me in participating in a two week popular music and dance program at the Havana School of Music in Cuba next February! Check out the program at PlazaCUBA
Current Projects: I am currently working through my student organization, SOCA (Student Organizing Committee for the Arts) to try to get a new piano in the Stanford Coffee House. If you are interested in helping with this endeavor, contact me. I am also trying to organize with Jack Conte regular jam sessions in the Kimball lounge. We would love to get a nice group together to jam-- I think our first session will probably be during finals week or dead week for a study break.
BIO: My name is Megan Miller, and I am a Music Major at Stanford University. I am passionately interested in theory and composition and plan to study jazz piano until the day I die. I am also an artist, and am interested in many subject areas, including video, cinematography, theatre, physics, installation, interactive art, sculpture, virtual reality etc. Coming into Stanford, I thought I was going to study science, and I spent two summers working at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (working with nonlinear crystals and laser optics) and one summer at Montana State University doing their Research Experience for Undergrads Program. Then I had a change of heart and was an art major for a year, applying my science background to my art projects, creating works that reference to scientific interest or explore various technical properties of artistic mediums. Then this summer I had a revelation and realized that if I didn't study music I would regret it for the rest of my life.
Please visit the gallery and check out the artwork, as well as the info on my music.
