Lunch at Hafner's for Joanie Axel Seefeldt and Judy Gault Bourg

We LOVE to get together with out-of-towners that come back to visit the Q-Cities. On April 16th a group of locals and not-so-locals gathered for lunch at Hafner's prompted by a visit from Joanie Axel Seefeldt and Judy Gault Bourg.

In February 2009, some of our Q-C "Snowbirds" visited MHS classmates living in Florida. Here are a few photos shared by Karen Morse Davidson.

We had a surprise addition to our Maid Rite gathering on January 19th. Jim Widdop just happened to stop by for lunch while in town. We hope he and his wife, Linda (Elzey) '59 will both join our informal Monday gathering some time.

If you would like to join us, call Nancy Ross Polios, Leatha Defebaugh Boyer, Dave Tanner, or Lee Wassenhove for time and location. The Maid Rite on 4th Avenue in Moline has been one of our favorite places, but we move around. Always check with one of us before you go.

Pictured above at the "guy's" table on Jan 19th, are Jim Widdop, Lee
Wassenhove, Dick Boyer (MHS'58), Al Larsen, and Dave Tanner.

"Mr. Thanksgiving" does it again!

Our MHS '59 classmate, Bob Vogelbaugh, also known as &ldquoMr. Thanksgiving&rdquo in the Quad-Cities, held his 38th annual dinner Nov. 27 at SouthPark Mall from 4-6:30 p.m. An article appeared in the RI Argus/Dispatch on November 14th, making a call to the community to help with monetary donations.

Bob is hoping to complete two more yearly events before he "retires" from this volunteer work.

Read the full RI Argus/Dispatch article about Bob

Congratulations on another successful event, Bob!!
Our Class of '59 is proud of your efforts!

The two photos above were taken at the 2008 Thanksgiving event at SouthPark Mall.

A visit from Judy (Louden) Axel

Judy is retired and enjoys traveling. She met with several former classmates for lunch on November 5th. These pictures were taken early, but other classmates came to join the fun and other pictures have been promised for this website. Check back!

On November 14th, Judy's sister-in-law, Joanie Axel Seefeldt, will be visiting the area. Another luncheon at Hafner's and more photos are planned.

October 10th, 2008 MHS Homecoming Parade

For the second year, our Scholarship Committee participated in the annual homecoming parade at MHS. This year, we went "hog wild" with our float entry. A lot of group effort went into the planning and building because we were representing the class AND following the Grand Marshal of the parade who was our own alumni group President, Tom Seitz.

To see more photos from this event, follow this Parade link.
