This page is about Baseball. Baseball is by far our most popular sport. We have
the biggest turnout of any of the sports we offer. W try to play by the Little League rules,
with some modifications;
  1. Its coach pitch, the kids have 5 pitches to hit the ball, if they dont hit it in 5 tries,
they hit it from a T.
  2. Walkers and chairs are automaticly safe at first base.
  3. We have 3 outs, but we make sure all the kids have at least one chance to bat through
    the inning.
  4. The feild is smaller than the regulation feild, so the kids do not have as far to run or walk.
  5. We set about a 3 foot ring the at ball has to pass for it to be into play, this gives everyone
    an even chance.
  6. Noone in the field can play past the pitchers mound, everyone has to stay behind an imaginary
line from 1st base to 3rd base until the ball has made it past the 3 foot ring.
  7. We set markers in the outfield so if the ball passes that marker, we know if its a double,
    tripple, or a home run.
When I started coaching 3 years ago, there were enough kids to start a 3rd team, which I coached.
In past season, we had enough for a 4th team, and this year have enough for a 5th team.
We are hoping in the future to have a Major and Minor league, divided by the childs ability.
Its amazing to see how the kids are retaining more and more of what we are teaching them. They are
truely grasping the meaning of teamwork, and sharing. Its great to see someone who only wanted to
hold on to the ball in the beginning of the season, realize they have to throw it to another to make
a play or to get someone out.
Baseball starts in April, and runs through about June or July. Anyone is welcome to come out to watch
or participate.
