The Red Baron

Dear Mother,
I have not written for a few years now because I have been so busy. I have now become a great War ace. Now  it all started  on the 17th September 1916 when I had my first Victory. I had three victories that month. The next month I had another three which put me on my way. It is now January 1918 and I have had sixty one victories, which makes me Germany's best. Most of these victories would have been in biplanes and Albatros D.II and D.III(the lower wings seem to fall off D.III's while in flight) as that is what I mostly flew, At the moment I fly a Fokker Dr.I triplane that is painted totally red. I have had parts of my planes painted red before so as to let my allies know not to shoot me down. Hence my nickname The Red Baron. Lately I have been doing non flying jobs after being shot in the head (I suffer bad headaches) but they have let me back into flying as it is what I do best although I do admit I am not the best of  pilots. I will have to leave you now, hopefully the war will end soon and I will get home to see you in person.
