Taken in Dec.'68 - Here I am with my mom and dad. I am the baby and I'm around 3 months old. Notice how happy I am ! That's because at this time THERE IS NO ROGER. He wouldn't be around for another FOUR years ! :)
The girl is my sister, Joan.
Here's a picture from the local newspaper back in 1960 when the Ohio State Basketball team (with John Havlicek, Jerry Lucas and benchwarmer Bob Knight) won the National Title.
The arrows point to my Dad (he was in high school at the time)
who attended the celebration (this is when the team got back into Columbus).
There's a funny story to go with this one. There were a ton of people at the celebration and my Dad and one of his friends decided to cut school that day to attend. What would the odds be that he would see anyone he knew from school LET ALONE THE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL ?! You guessed it - the principal saw them and when they got back to school they got detention for 2 weeks !!! I think in this case it was worth the punishment.
This is a closeup of where my Dad was standing. Looks like he's having a good time and wouldn't have stayed away even if he knew the principal was there. The question is - who busted the principal and punished HIM ?!
