With the success of the new Batman animated series, it was decided to reintroduce the first superhero, Superman, back into the pen and ink medium.
One of the episodes shown was with the mischevious Mr. Mxyzptlk, who had transformed the entire Daily Planet staff into animals, including Lois Lane who was changed into... a horse.
Here, the cursed Statue of Hippodamia worked its magic on Lois and Supergirl.
