Havoc of Mobb Deep is planning to drop his debut solo album The Kush, on the 18/09/07. Just like his partner in crime, Havoc decided to go the independent route, and release the album through Nature Sounds. Now I'm eagerly awaiting this album, as much as, if not more than Prodigy's Return of the Mac. Simply because it's Hav's first solo outing, finally the man behind the beats gets to do his thing. Havocs been behind the boards for many smash hits, including LL Cool J's Queens, Foxy Browns The Promise to name a few. Why has it taken Hav so long to do a solo album? In Hav's own words "I was always ready (to drop a solo-album), but the reason why it took me so long is because the timing wasn't right. I was always working on Mobb Deep material and working with other artists and I used allot of the material I was going to use for a solo-LP for Mobb Deep records." Very true, Hav did have a few singles out in preparation for his debut album that received heavy circulation , including Tha Illest, and Bump That. They eventually found there way onto the Free Agents mixtape, and Havocs album was put on hold. Havoc says he's going to stick to the same formula, great news, if its not broke don't fix it "basically, The Kush is dark and gutter, I really wanted to go that direction. Besides Prodigy, I did not want a bunch of big stars on it, as it would have taken away from the real objective of the LP, which is grimy and down to earth." Havoc also revealed his reasons behind the album and expressed the natural progression he has taken "the thing that keeps me motivated is just my love of music, I just love to create. The Kush represents me as an individual and my growth as a producer and lyricist." says Hav. This is the album that many Mobb Deep fans have been waiting for, although this may not be a platinum selling success, it will most definitely be an underground smash, besides Prodigy, other guests will include Un-Pacino, 40 Glocc and The Infamous Mobb amongst others. Here is the track listing supplied by XXLmag.com (subject to change). 1.) NY For Life (produced by Havoc) One thing that bothers me about this is, where the fucks Noyd? This guy hasn't featured on a Mobb Deep album since Amerikaz Nightmare!! Peace. Gurjit. 25/07/07 All quotes provided by Nature Sounds (naturesounds.net)
